Godrej Enterprises Group Champions Cybersecurity as a Strategic Priority During Cyber Security Awareness Month (CSAM)
The Group reinforces cybersecurity as a cornerstone of responsible growth and digital transformation.
Mumbai, October 29th 2025 – In an era marked by escalating global tensions, sophisticated cyber threats, and increasing digital interconnectivity, Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) is reinforcing its commitment to cybersecurity as a cornerstone of responsible growth and digital transformation. As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month (CSAM), the Group is spotlighting its strategic initiatives to build a cyber-resilient organization.
Cybersecurity today goes far beyond data protection, it is a business-critical imperative. With the rise of Industry 4.0, IoT-enabled smart factories, and AI-driven operations, the attack surface has expanded dramatically. Threats now have the potential to disrupt entire supply chains, production systems, and stakeholder trust. Recognizing this, GEG has embedded cybersecurity into its core business strategy.
Mr. Vijay Balakrishnan, Chief Digital & Information Officer, Godrej Enterprises Group said, "For Godrej Enterprises Group, cybersecurity is not just a compliance requirement, but this is considered a board room priority at GEG and is ingrained into our core biz strategies. As digital transformation is at a fast pace across sectors, we are infusing cybersecurity into the core of our operations through people, processes, and technology. Through proactive investment, responsible AI usage, and ongoing employee awareness efforts, we seek to create a cyber-resilient company that secures our ecosystem of partners, customers, and stakeholders while facilitating innovation and expansion."
GEG’s cybersecurity strategy spans both Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems, guided by globally recognized frameworks such as NIST 2.0, Purdue Model, and ISO 27001:2022. The Group’s approach is holistic, board-level, and future-ready.
On this occasion, Mr. Ambarish Kumar Singh, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Godrej Enterprises Group, stated, “Cybersecurity at GEG is a strategic imperative as we want to ensure our customer, employees and other stakeholders' data is secure. Our key focus area is Data protection, Cyber defense, holistic vulnerability management and building a cyber aware culture at GEG. We believe that robust cybersecurity practices are vital for GEG to protect its digital assets, maintain business resilience, comply with regulations, and uphold the trust of employees, clients and stakeholders. We have done many activities during CASM’25 to engage with employees & other stakeholders with a focus on enhancing cyber awareness at all levels aligned to this year’s theme ‘Secure our digital life’.”
To further strengthen its cyber defense posture, GEG has adopted Zero Trust Network Access architecture and robust vendor risk management protocols, including periodic vulnerability assessments and multi-layered supply chain security.
Employee engagement remains central to GEG’s cybersecurity efforts. The Group conducts regular training sessions, expert-led talks, phishing simulations, and gamified learning modules to foster a culture of cyber awareness across all levels.
In anticipation of evolving regulatory landscapes, GEG is actively preparing for compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and other international norms. A comprehensive privacy roadmap has been in development for over a year, ensuring that compliance supports innovation rather than stifling it.
Looking ahead, GEG is investing in AI-powered cyber defense agents that continuously learn and adapt to emerging threats. The Group is also exploring the balance between AI for cybersecurity and cybersecurity for AI, ensuring responsible and secure deployment of advanced technologies.
With these initiatives, Godrej Enterprises Group reaffirms its commitment to cybersecurity as a foundation for sustainable development, consumer trust, and long-term industry leadership.
