Godrej sparks green energy drive in Assam FMCG plant

Godrej’s Energy Solutions is helping India’s renewable energy goals with a major 2 MWp solar project in Guwahati, Assam. This project will generate 2.4 million units of clean energy annually for an FMCG facility, cutting its carbon emissions by nearly 100 tons annually.

Godrej Enterprises is installing a 2 MWp solar plant at an FMCG facility in Guwahati. This initiative is aligned with India’s goal to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030. The project will generate around 2.4 million kilowatt-hours of energy annually, saving the company ₹1.4 crore in energy costs each year.

Supporting Assam’s renewable energy vision

The project is part of Assam’s renewable energy strategy, which includes a target of 2,000 MW of capacity by 2025. Godrej’s contribution to this goal with its solar power installation helps promote clean energy use across industries.
