Craft Under The Canopy
Interio by Godrej's flagship in Mumbai unfolds as an ode to legacy, innovation and the art of living well, housed amidst the green expanse of Vikhroli.
Down the tree-lined lanes of Mumbai's greenest suburb, Vikhroli, a new story of design takes root. Interio by Godrej has opened its flagship store, a 22,000 sq ft space that transforms a century-old legacy into a dialogue between craft, comfort and contemporary life. Designed by Mazumdar Bravo Architects, the flagship brings together modular and configurable furniture for ever-evolving homes, new categories like gaming, outdoor and children's furniture, and a tactile range of soft furnishings. At its heart is the Mangrove Kitchen, a cafe inspired by Vikhroli's lush ecosystem. The Archive Gallery walks visitors through Godrej's design journey, from the ubiquitous steel almirah to collaborations with craft-led brands such as Oorjaa, Sirohi and ADIGAMI Studio brimming with experimentation and novelty. Nyrika Holkar, Executive Director of Godrej Enterprises Group tells us, "For me, the Interio by Godrej flagship is deeply personal. A place where heritage, craft and contemporary design come together. It carries the warmth of our Bauhaus-inspired beginnings and the optimism of the India we design for today. Every space, from the cafe to the archival showcase invites you to pause, to feel, to belong. Because good design, at its core, is about connection. It shapes how we live, how we remember, and how we find meaning”. Website: interio.com, mazumdarbravo.com
