A Vertical Lift Module (VLM), like the Godrej Tornado, is an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) designed to act like a giant, intelligent vending machine for your warehouse. It consists of two columns of trays (front and back) with a central elevator that delivers items directly to an operator.
The operation is a simple three-step Goods-to-Person process:
- Request: The operator selects an item or enters an order via the integrated touchscreen interface.
- Retrieval: The internal high-speed elevator (the "extractor") travels vertically to the exact shelf location, pulls the heavy-duty tray onto the platform, and brings it down.
- Delivery: The tray is presented at an ergonomic picking port at waist height. The operator picks the item, and the lift returns the tray to its optimal storage position.
